The crucial role requires expertise in "Tekla Structures," a tool that models structures with diverse building materials such as steel, concrete, timber, and glass. Candidates for this position should have 2-3 years of relevant experience in fabrication shop drawing detailing and construction, with a strong emphasis on practical, on-site experience or relevant education. It is also necessary to travel to various project sites as needed due to the nature of the job. Key Responsibilities

  • Review architectural and structural engineering drawings to determine design intent and detailing requirements for precast components, in alignment with project goals.
  • Create detailed models of precast buildings and engineering projects using computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software.
  • Operate advanced CAD and drafting workstations to produce precise and accurate precast detailing drawings that meet project specifications and standards.
  • Design sketches specifically for precast detailing, contributing to the project's goals and ensuring seamless integration.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and specific project specifications.
  • Address and resolve design-related issues collaboratively with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders.
  • Support efficient project planning, cost estimation, and material procurement with detailed material lists, bills of materials, and quantity takeoffs.
  • Continuously review and refine drawings in response to feedback from the project team.
  • Ensure regular, accurate updates to project managers and other stakeholders to facilitate transparent communication.
  • Ensure optimal design solutions by applying in-depth knowledge of welding processes, materials, and construction methods.
  • Maintain records of drawings, revisions, and project details for organizational efficiency.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, contracts, tender documents, construction specifications, and detailed cost and material estimates to support project objectives.

 

Qualifications

  • Relevant education or 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software.
  • In-depth knowledge of fabrication shop drawing detailing practices and standards.
  • Ability to operate advanced CAD and drafting workstations.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
  • Understanding of welding processes, materials, and construction methods relevant to precast hardware fabrication drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address design-related issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in drawings and documentation.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.
  • Willingness to travel to various project locations as needed.
  • Ability to write technical reports, prepare contracts, tender documents, construction specifications, and detailed cost and material estimates.
