Job Title: Long Haul Truck Drivers

Number of Positions: 2

Terms of Employment: 40 hours per week, Full-Time/Permanent

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Wage: $28.85 - $30.00/Hour (Depending on experience)

Type of Travel: Long-haul, Regional, Provincial/Territorial, Cross-Border

Job Duties:

• Operate and drive primarily tractor-trailer, long-combination vehicle, flat bed, and straight-body trucks to deliver long haul loads.
• Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods.
• Loading and unloading of goods.
• Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo.
• Plan trip logistics and prepare documentation for transportation of goods and record trip details, cargo info, distance traveled, gas consumption.
• Perform pre-trip, on route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals, brakes, and cold storage.
• Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
• Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain logbooks.
• Communicate with dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices and on-board computers.
• Perform preventive maintenance.

Skills Requirements

Education: Completion of Secondary school is required.

Credentials: Air Brakes Endorsement, Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)

Experience: No experience required, on the job training will be provided

                      *Experience in driving flatbed trucks would be consider an asset

Language: English

• Must be willing to travel as a team across Canada and U.S.A.
• Must have a valid passport for travel cross-border

Type of Trucking & Equipment: Flatbed, Tractor-Trailer

Documentation Knowledge: Driver Logbook, Inspection Reports, Trip Report, Trans-border Documentations, Driving Record Check (Abstract)

Communication System Experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment.

Safety and Security: Basic Security Clearance, Criminal record check and drug test.

Personal Suitability: Reliability, Team Player
