Job Description:
• Install, repair, and replace roofs using materials such as metal, tiles, shingles, wood shingles and shakes.
• Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofs.
• Using waterproofing sheet in materials such as modified plastics, elastic materials, or other asphaltic pieces, install, repair, or replace a single-ply roof.
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
• Measure and cut materials to ensure their accurate fitting around the walls.
• Install, repair or replace shingles and other roofing tiles.
• Remove snow, water, or debris from roofs prior to applying roofing materials.
• Smooth rough spots to prepare surfaces for waterproofing, using hammers, chisels, or rubbing bricks.
• Install insulation materials underneath roofs.
• Use hand tools and other equipment (e.g. scaffold, ladder).
• Calculate the goods and labor estimates to perform budget- conscious work.
• Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
• Completion of Secondary School is required.
• Experience is an asset; however, on the job training will be provided.
