Position Description

Position: Electrician

Type of employment: Full-Time; Permanent

Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible

Work Location: Various Locations in Lower Mainland and Greater Vancouver Region, BC

Salary: $30.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to plan wiring layouts.
  • Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
  • Pull wire through conduits and holes in walls and floors to ensure proper installation.
  • Test electrical systems for loose connections, broken insulation, and isolate faults, using hand and power tools.
  • Splice, join and connect wires to electrical fixtures and components with precision and care.
  • Promote and comply with health, safety, and environmental standards, safe operating procedures, and the observance of protective equipment requirements at all times.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and components to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and maintain accurate maintenance records to ensure the ongoing functionality of electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with other trades and professionals to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to electrician helpers.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required to support the smooth operation of our electrical services.

 

Job Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school
  • Relevant education or at least 2-3 years’ experience.
  • Trade certification would be an asset but not mandatory.
  • Good communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical abilities
  • Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues effectively.
  • Able to work well independently and within a team.
