Position:                           Pharmacy Technician

Duration:                          Permanent, Full-Time

Hours:                               40/week

Salary:                               $20.00/hr

Overtime:                         As per provincial standards - $30.00 after 8 hrs/day, 40 hrs/week

Observed Holidays:        As outlined on labour.gov.bc.ca – 10 holidays/yr

Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 and graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Current practicing registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
  • Experience: On-the-job training provided

 

Job Duties:

  • Receive prescriptions from patients and ensure their accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare, measure, and compound medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Package and label medications, as well as maintain proper storage conditions.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Process prescriptions by entering patient information and prescription details into the computer system.
  • Assist patients with medication-related inquiries, both in person and over the phone.
  • Maintain patient profiles, including medication history and relevant health information.
  • Process insurance claims, ensuring accuracy in billing and reimbursement procedures.
  • Ensure a smooth workflow by preparing and maintaining pharmacy schedule.
  • Adhere to pharmacy regulations and standards, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and guidelines.
