Responsibilities
Tasks
- Analyze welding process specifications to determine project requirements.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and welding processes to ensure precision and accuracy in fabrication and welding tasks.
- Inspect welds to verify compliance with established quality standards and specifications.
- Operate flame-cutting equipment manually or semi-automatically to prepare metal materials.
- Use metal shaping, straightening, and bending tools, such as brakes and shears, to prepare parts for assembly.
- Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal pieces for assembly or repair.
- Operate oxygen arc-cutting (arc-air) equipment for cutting or gouging metal surfaces.
- Assess materials to determine their suitability for welding processes.
- Safely handle and operate hoisting and lifting equipment to position materials and parts.
- Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
- Operate pre-configured brazing or soldering machines to bond metal components or fill seams, holes, and indentations.
- Set up, monitor, and adjust robotic welding production lines, including start-up and shut-down operations.
- Conduct minor repairs and routine maintenance on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
