Job description:
Our family in North York, Ontario is looking for a Personal Support Worker for two seniors.
- Salary: $20.00 per hour
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Scent free
- Work Location: 16 Maureen Dr, North York, ON M2K 1J8; Must work in employer's/client's home.
Job Duties:
- Provide bedside and personal care of the seniors including but not limited to bathing, dressing, ambulation, feeding, and medication reminders.
- Serve as a companion to the seniors.
- Select and prepare meals for the seniors.
- Have interpersonal skills, including exceptional patience and listening skills.
- Perform housekeeping duties such as washing dishes, keeping the room clean, laundry, etc.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable and caring environment for the seniors.
- Keep good communication with the family and supervisors regarding the seniors’ condition.
- Administer first-aid or CPR to the seniors when necessary.
Requirements:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Previous experience in the same field and/or previous full-time training in the field will be an asset.
- First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate would be an asset.
- Must be reliable, client-focused, organized with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to speak and understand English.
