Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Land Surveyor Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting land surveys, collecting data, and preparing accurate reports to support various construction and development projects. This position requires proficiency in surveying techniques and software, as well as a strong understanding of land regulations and mapping.
Duties
- Conduct land surveys using specialized equipment and technology to determine propertyboundaries, topography, and other relevant features.
- Collect and analyze data related to land characteristics, including elevation, contours, andvegetation.
- Utilize AutoCAD and ArcGIS software for drafting maps and plans based on survey data.
- Reliable, efficient and accurate acquisition of survey data that determines precise geographic locations using GPS, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles / Drone and AUVs.
- Set up of GPS/GNSS equipment and survey control station for geodetic positioning and real-time kinematic (RTK) surveying to determine precise coordinates.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to provide necessary survey information for project development.
- Prepare detailed reports that summarize findings, methodologies used, and recommendations based on survey results.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards related to land surveying practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Geodetic Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- 3 years to less than 5 years of work experience.
- Ability to understand and compute trigonometric solutions (slopes, distances and orientation)using latitude and longitude or cartesian coordinates, heading and angles, depths andelevations of earth’s surface for mapping purposes.
- Strong background both in field data acquisition and office data processing using relevant software like Terramodel Trimble Business Center, Magnet Software Suites, AutoCAD, ArcGIS,Evia software Suites.
- Proficient in Excel spreadsheet calculations and macro creation, knowledgeable in DataAnalytics and basic Python scripts.
- Experience in Cloud storage and database management for proper handling and safekeeping of survey data deliverables to Clients.
- Have a good understanding and wide knowledge of different state-of-the-art survey techniques in performing topographic surveys, building and infrastructure construction,dimensional control survey, bathymetric survey, preliminary and post surveys, dredging and reclamation survey (port, harbor, riverbanks, shoreline development projects), landfall surveyfor telecom lines and pipes, site and building construction.
- Strong skills in data collection techniques and data management practices.
- Familiarity with land surveying principles, techniques, and legal requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate measurements and reporting.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $39.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
