Bricklayer
Job details
Salary $45.00 per hour, full time 40 hours per week, permanent regular employment
Requirements: construction trades courses or equivalent experience, minimum 5 years of experience in bricklaying, masonry, repair, renovation, historical restoration, able to work in physically demanding environment and handle heavy loads, personal suitability: accurate, reliability, team player.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units
- Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing
- Construct and install prefabricated masonry units
- Build patios, garden walls and other decorative installations
- Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required & set out job sites
- Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools
- Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces
- Lay or install firebricks to line industrial chimneys and smokestacks
- Restore, clean existing masonry structures
- Apply knowledge of historical restoration
- Install structural lintels & beams to engineer specification/drawings
